Peter's letters to Mary H.
« on: August 15, 2009, 02:01:35 PM »
I have been re-reading Peter's letters to Mary H. after the website included all pages of the letters, and I find them to be very sad.  It amazes me that she raised those boys and couldn't find it in her heart to spend any time with them after they were grown.  I know about her treatment of Jack's wife Gerrie, but in a way she was the only mother they knew after the death of their own.  She certainly spent more time with them than any grandparents, aunts, uncles... especially Michael and Nico.

I can just about feel how much Peter wanted to see her and have her be a part of their lives.  This is such a sad and sweet story.
