Forum Errors - All members please read!
« on: February 24, 2010, 06:02:15 PM »
First of all, the forum has not been hacked. The corruption is due to a database error that was outside of my control.

Secondly, the large number of members without posts is to be expected. Access to various part of the site is locked until your a member on the forum. So it is not anything unusual.

The site's forum has suffered a crippling corruption that disabled access to the site for some days.

What this means is that I have had to restore a fairly old version of the message board's database. This means that anyone who registered after November ( or there about ) of last year will have to re-register for now.

Our host was unable to provide us with a working backup of the database, apparently the corruption exists in all the backups they have.

I will now have to manually add everyone's effected account that has posted on the forum.

If your account has been effected but you have never posted on the forum, then please just re-register.

If your account has been effected and you have posted on the forum, then register a new account. Then e-mail me at dafydd@jmbarrie.co.uk with your old account name, your new account name and a reference to any post you made in the past. I will then attempt to link your old posts to you new account. This is a manual process so please bare with me.

Please accept my sincerest apology for the inconvenience this has caused.

That's a relief, that it hasn't been hacked into....

And I guess that explains why I haven't been affected--I joined in June.

Hope everyone who joined later than November can re-register soon so this problem can be put behind us....

It is possible its a date around November, give or take, I cant say exactly, but its around there. It could be give or take a month or two.

Thanks Dafydd...I was afraid maybe it was the same lot who vandalized the house.
