Hi everyone!
I was looking my first edition of Peter and Wendy.. and in particular i was admiring the illustration made by badford titled: "to die will be an awfully big adventure ?"

So.. the question is: if you look closely at the picture you will  see that the title of the picture is:

"to die will be an awfully big adventure ?"

But.. in the text there isn't a question mark.. The text says:" It was saying, 'To die will be an awfully big adventure.'
In your opinion.. Is this an error by the illustrator bedford or not? Interesting...

Peter Pan / Peter and wendy hard cover with white decoration
« on: March 26, 2011, 12:33:19 AM »
Hi !does  anybody know something about this particular first edition/first printing of " Peter and wendy" ?
Seems to me that 99% the hard cover presents gold decorations, but in this one the decorations are stamped in white.

Thank you

Database / early postcard of the statue in K. Gardens
« on: March 25, 2011, 02:52:44 PM »
Hi.. On the first blank page of my "Peter and Wendy" book, from 1911 the first owner, which i believe was a collector ( the book has an "Ex libris")  stuck on an early postcard of the Peter statue in Kensington gardens.
The postcard was manufactured by "Beagles" and the title is "Peter at home".
It has not a date, but i believe it is one of the first postcard with this statue because under the title they wrote: "The NEW statue erected in Kensington Gardens".

I search on the net, and this is the only one postcard in which was written "the new"..
If this should interest you, for the database I can attach it.
P.s. Sorry if the english is not perfect but i'm from Italy.

Peter Pan / Peter and Wendy first Uk impression undated.... why?
« on: March 17, 2011, 09:10:17 PM »
Hi everyone ! I'm from Italy, and although I'm quite young I love antique books.. For my birthday I bought a first Uk edition and a first impression of Peter and Wendy.
I've read that we can say that is a first impression because unlike the following ones only the very first has NO date impressed.
I' ve also read that this detail was asked by JM Barrie himself, and you can find this info in this book:

- Sir James M. Barrie: A Bibliography ; by B. D. Cutler

Does anyone read this book or know the meaning of that detail ? Why Barrie didn't want the date's impression on the first impression?

Anyway... Thanks you so much!!  ;)
