Letter Mentioning George’s Revolver and Field Glasses
« on: August 19, 2021, 02:00:34 AM »
Letter from Barrie to author Charles Turley Smith. From “Letters of J.M. Barrie” by Viola Meynell.
I’m sharing this letter because it talks about George’s revolver and field glasses.

11 July 1916

You may have seen that E.V.’s brother Percival, who sometimes played cricket with us, was killed in the ‘push.’ He had George’s revolver and field glasses, which are again without an owner. In a recent letter to E.V. he said he didn’t see how one could escape. Peter is out there in the thick of it. Life is forlorn despite the gaiety of the newspaper press.
I expect your agricultural work is a real good successful job.
