Does anybody know the time of Michael’s death at Sandford on 19th May 1921? I think it must have been mid afternoon but I’m not 100% sure. Was he staying at Peckwater Quad at this time or on High Street?

Why hasn’t a film been made that focuses on the Davies boys and their relationship with Barrie. Such an interesting story. I know there have been films such as Finding Neverland but one that covers the period from Sylvia’s death to Michael’s death would be intriguing.

I notice that Jack’s children both died in their forties. Did they die from lung related issues as many of the Llewelyn Davies family did? What descendants still survive today?

Just spent two nights in Peck 1:5, Michael’s room for a brief time whilst at Christ Church. As a history graduate and buff it’s been really interesting staying here and it’s just as Barrie described it (dark, oak paneling etc) in his letters. It’s as though the walls have absorbed a little portion of each person who has stayed here. What puzzles me, and maybe someone might have an answer, is that there are two bedrooms in Peck 1:5 but I thought that Michael stayed on his own in the room. It is a lovely room in a quiet quad although I have yet to see a ghost!

I read today that Michael seemed to have suffered from persistent swelling under his left eye - as shown in certain photographs. Does anybody know what this might have been?

Does anybody know if there are any ceilings that still have one of JM Barrie’s stamps?

I’d be interested to hear people’s opinions about Jack’s naval career. Do you think he was ‘forced’ into the navy by Barrie to remove him from the scene or do you think it was Jack’s choice? Maybe a bit of both. Possibly he wanted to get away from Barrie. How was he academically? Could he have managed at Eton and Oxford? Was he on good terms with Barrie in the 20s and 30s? Interested to see what other people think.

I’m extremely puzzled about two events after reading Piers Dudgeon’s interesting book The Real Peter Pan. Both involved Neville Cardus’ very strange weekend with, or as it happens,without Barrie. He mentions that he stayed in Michael’s old bedroom but that ‘the towels (in the bathroom) were damp and soiled; and round the shelves were one or two shaving brushes congealed in ancient soap. A rusty razor blade on a window ledge was historical. Barrie has a private bathroom; the unclean towels puzzled me’. Why, after great expense refitting his Adelphi Terrace flat did he leave this bathroom in such a state?He had a butler after all! Was the bathroom left exactly as it was when Michael used it?
Also, Cardus also mentions a strange event when he was left alone in the flat and ‘presently the door opened and a young man entered, in a dinner jacket’. He says that they talked about cricket and that he was a very likeable young man but that he never found out who he was. Dudgeon doesn’t go further. Who could this have been? Two very strange occurrences!
