Thanks Nicholas. I've been savoring your article and it certainly has been informative.

I'm well into this book right now, and at the very least I'll say that is more interesting than Neverland, which I found rather disappointing. Despite the author's negative view of Barrie, I think he has provided some information, I don't remember reading in other books.

Thanks Rosalind. I've just started reading
The Natural World of Winnie-the-Pooh: A Walk Through the Forest that Inspired the Hundred Acre Wood by Kathryn Aalto and am really enjoying it. I'll probably look for Thwaite's book next.

JMBarrie / What Did Barrie Think Of AA Milne ?

Can't seem to find an answer. Obviously they knew each other, since Milne was an Allahakbarrie in 1913 I believe. Would love to know if Barrie had an opinion of Winnie The Pooh.

I located it on Google Maps and Wikimapia. The Lake is about 560 ft NE of Tilford Road. Wikimapia is a wonderful tool. The Google Maps view look's very scenic.

So many tragedies, and there seems to be little information on the deaths of Barrie's nephews Charlie (Peterkin) and Willie in World War 1.

He's got a wikipedia page. I'm guessing he would have been around 28 or 29 at the time of his death. There also seems to be very little on the passing of Margaret Henley.

Was it only Robert Boothby who made those comments about Buxton ? If there was any truth in those claims, the death of two brothers and his father within three years would offer a logical explanation.

I've been trying to find specific details and really seen to find an answer.

Davies Family / Re: The best swimmers are most often drowned

I'm also puzzled by the fact that they would have gone swimming so early in the year (May 19) I imagine the water would have been fairly cold being over a month before the start of Summer.
