JMBarrie / The Man Who Was Peter Pan
« on: June 09, 2005, 03:59:32 AM »
I have been searching for that play for quite some time.

According to the bonus features on Finding Neverland, I've heard some interesting details, but was I wondering if anyone knew where to find it.

The man, who wrote it also wrote a musical for Little Woman...but on that site there's not much information...and the web always directs me straight to Finding Neverland (I know the script was based on this play). Even on this Peter Pan website, I couldn't find much help...anyone know...has anyone read it?

Andrew, I think you read the script...but not the play...or am I wrong?

"I do loathe explanations" so I better not explain what I am about to write, but I'm sure Mr. Birkin can give you the answer you're looking for.

I found Uncle Jim to be neither a boy or a man (half-n half)...but oh, how he was wishing to discover what he was!

I haven't gotten to Tommy and Grizel yet, but I heard that Tommy can't become a man...he writes about that...it seems to be hidden all through his writings.

JMBarrie / Barrie and Chaplin?
« on: April 27, 2005, 12:32:16 AM »
I seem to be developing a passion for this man, Charlie Chaplin...just I did for Barrie when I read Peter and Wendy. Now I know of the several metions of Chaplin in Mr. Birkin's book (maybe I missed something) but I was wondered if Barrie and Chaplin ever met...or perhaps one of the boys met him (Nico maybe...he seemed to love him)

Peter Pan / Found in the translation?
« on: April 25, 2005, 01:57:18 AM »
A few questions really...

What did Barrie think of the many actresses who played Peter Pan? Or any of them? I know he was displeased with the statue...but I was wondering...

Did he see the first movie version...the silent film (sorry, I can't remember the year it was made)..do you know what he thought of it?

Besides Ian Holm and Johnny Depp are there any other actors that potrayed Mr. Barrie...I don't mean on stage (I know there's The Man Who Was Peter Pan) but on film?

Besides in The Lost Boys, do you, Mr. Birkin, feel that any actor/actress and (or) film has captured the true Peter?

Sorry if it seems a little much, but I'm just filled with questions tonight!

Peter Pan / Peter's "Age"

I know he's really ageless...but what age did Barrie picture him at physically...I once heard it was twelve...or was it younger?

General topic / Contact Mr. Birkin

I know someone who wishes to write a letter to Mr. Birkin. Is this the only way people can contact, or is there a mailing address...just wondering...I suppose there's a desire to not have others read it and sometimes computers just don't work.

JMBarrie / The first book and No. 1
« on: March 13, 2005, 07:58:55 PM »
What was J.M.B. first book? Was it Better Dead...if so, the title seems to suit the respone of it...but what his first success...or the first book he was pleased with...or play...whichever comes first.

And well, of course, there's Peter Pan and the Boy Castaways...but did he write any of the five books like he did The Little White Bird for No 1. I'm sure their humble servant spread them across many of his pages like Tommy spread his spirit over his little sister...but I was just wondering if there were any other books like The Little White Bird
