The Lost Boys DVD - Region 1 Release?
« on: February 06, 2005, 10:31:31 PM »
Any word on a Region 1 release for THE LOST BOYS?  Perhaps they can do a tie-in with FINDING NEVERLAND.  Put an insert in the DVD case which reads "For the REAL story on J.M. Barrie, be sure to buy THE LOST BOYS."

Finding neverland is rubbish. Lost boys is marvellous. It would be a very bad idea to mix them on a dvd.

You can  read a zone 2 DVD with a zone 1 DVD player if you have a computer.
You can use this freeware :
VLC Media Player (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/).

No news as far as I know. Andrew's obviously the person to ask. I don't know how often he access this forum. There's no mention of it on Amazon.com anyway.

My suggestion to anyone who likes films, TV programmes, music, etc, is to take a global view and buy a multi-region DVD player capable of reading discs.  The problem is then solved for anything else that comes along as well, and you can import freely from around the world.

Good luck.

I seem to have omitted/deleted two important terms in my reply just now:

The multi-region DVD player should be capable of reading NTSC and PAL discs.

If you're thinking of buying a dvd player, most new ones are multiregion, and most computers bought recently can play multiregion dvds. I can't yet afford to/justify upgrading my dvd player but will certainly buy and play Lost Boys on my notebook.

Finding Neverland...Ha!

I have to agree with another post...finding Neverland was a sell out on the genius that was and still is James Barrie...Depp as Barrie...well it sold tickets but not me...
Thank God for Andrew's book...my research on barrie with his book and Janet Dunbar's is supurb...too bad only a few people will learn how truly enigmatic Barrie was...just as his characthers.

Region1...how wonderful...
